The high frequency vacuum dryer for wood is a compact piece of equipment designed for fast drying at low temperatures. It can be used for various types and thicknesses of wood material, from veneer, slats and wood panels to thick lumber and large-section wooden elements.
For thin parts, such as veneer or flooring slats, the technology combines a short drying cycle with reduced risk of warping and shrinkage.
For thick lumber and hardwoods, the process aims to achieve uniform moisture throughout the wood, while reducing the risk of surface or internal cracks.
Operating principle
The technology combines two methods: high frequency current heating and drying under vacuum conditions.
- High frequency heating
- High-frequency energy acts on the moisture inside the wood and penetrates the mass of the material.
- Heating occurs where moisture is present, promoting faster and more uniform drying.
- The process allows heating of the material in volume, not just starting from its surface.
- Vacuum drying
- Reducing pressure lowers the boiling point of water, allowing moisture to be removed at lower temperatures.
- Vacuum conditions facilitate the movement of moisture from inside the wood to the outside.
- According to the manufacturer, the combination of vacuum and HF heating allows shortening the drying cycle compared to drying performed at atmospheric pressure.
The equipment is fitted with overload protection, air cooling system pressure monitoring, two-stage filament start-up and phase loss protection.
The work process
- The wood is stacked on the feeding cart, and the electrodes are positioned between the layers of material, according to the process configuration.
- The cart is inserted into the tank, after which the door is closed.
- At the start of the cycle, the vacuum pump starts firstAfter reaching the preset vacuum value, the generator IF (high frequency) heating starts automatically.
- The IF generator heats the wood up to the set maximum temperature limit, then switches off. When the temperature drops to the set minimum limit, the IF heating starts again. During the cycle, the system maintains the vacuum around approx. -0,09 MPa, and the pump starts automatically when needed.
- At the end of the cycle, the weighing system monitors the mass variation, and this is used to determine the completion time and automatically stop the process.

Why do I recommend DaniBrum? In 2020, I purchased a circular saw with a mobile table and inches, the Lohmayer FKS320IQ brand, and a Holzmann KAM 215EPS abs edge banding machine. Both machines are industrial and I use them every day, cutting around 25-30 chipboards and edging them as well. Some time ago, I decided to increase my working capacity and buy 2 new machines from the company, 1 Circular saw with a mobile table and T45 parallel ruler, and 1 Automatic abs edge banding machine with pre-milling and rounding at the ends, KAM215ALL. I am very satisfied with both the products and the overall purchasing experience. The machines are well built and offer excellent working precision. The performance is beyond expectations, and the intuitive settings make use easy even for less experienced operators.
